Devanshi Yadav is an advocate of adoption and chose this path as the means to complete her family as a single mother. Born to a martyred father and a high-ranking police officer mother in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, she did her initial schooling from St. Maria Goretti, Bareilly and CSKM, New Delhi. She later went to Amity University to complete her higher education.

Devanshi herself is a survivor of abuse and what drives her is the will to ensure that no other women have to through trauma similar to hers. Her inclination towards social causes reflected in her work since a very young age and came to a fruition when she started Shaheed Ramashray Welfare Society at the young age of twenty-five by putting in all her personal savings.

The inspiration that fuelled Devanshi to birth the NGO was the love, and teachings left behind by her father, Shaheed Ramashray Yadav. He worked as a Judicial Magistrate after clearing the L.L.M examination and later one went to clear the civil services examination and join the Indian Police Services.

 

He was martyred in a terrorist attack on his convoy on 23rd September 1992. 

He continues to serve as an inspiration behind the organization’s aim to make the society a better place for the disadvantaged.
